This is Bailey dressed for the cold weather we have been having. As you can tell from her body language, she is not exactly thrilled to be dressed like this. She is actually getting used to the sweater but the boots did her in. As cold as it is outside now, she still asks to go outside for a few seconds at a time. She seems to enjoy the snow but really does not tolerate the cold real well. We will keep working on the boots and evenutally she will figure out that her feet do not get as cold when she goes out with them on just like she did with the sweater. Yes, some of you may think this borders on animal abuse but no more than what some other people do to their animals. You should see some of the stuff on the Internet that some people put on their pets!!!

Old Age Hits Home
Just to update some of you who didn't get my mass email. I spent the night on Thurday, December 4, in the hospital after being treated for atrial fibrillation. I went in that evening because I had not been feeling well for several days and it got considerably worse that day. They gave me meds in ER to convert my rhythm back to normal sinus and then started me on oral meds. They seem to be working as I feel much better now but they tell me I have to give up caffeine and that is going to be hard to do. Guess I am following in Mom's footsteps with this one since she has it too. Somehow the genetics seem to pass over Dallas and Verna and hit me all the time for all this bad stuff, just hope Dad's genes don't hit me too. Now Robert and I both are on meds for atrial fibrillation. Guess we are at that age!

Visit to Creston
After the rain one day we got a beautiful view of a rainbow outside of Renelle's house over the ridge, it was a huge one and even a double rainbow but I did not get a picture of the double. The other picture is of the three generations who went to the Sunday afternoon tea, it was very enjoyable, the food was delicious and so was the tea. I now know what "clotted cream" is that I read about in all of my historical romances and have now tasted Lapsang Souchong tea, it is a very smokey flavor but very good. "Clotted cream" is basically sour cream that has no sugar added to it so it does not taste like what we would call either whipped cream or sour cream but has a flavor all its own. We had a ball and I will post all of my pictures on the Webshots space so look for an email regarding that. It feels good to be home again although I had a wonderful time. All good times must unfortunately come to an end. Bailey seems to be happy to be home too even though she and Mozart had so much fun together. She traveled very well and her main naughty thing was to bark at Shawn all the time, she has a thing about men. Guess that is about all.

My Great Grand Sons
I finally got a picture of the boys to post on here on Labor Day which was also Cheryl's birthday. Ethan is 3 1/2 months old and Brendon is 4 years old. Seems weird to have them calling me Great Grandma and Scott Grandpa but this is reality now. More of our happy little family. Brendon looks like his Daddy, Marc, and Ethan looks more like his Mommy, Stacey.

Helen
For those of you who always hear me talk about my "other" mother, Helen, here is a picture of her so you can at least have a picture in your head of who I am talking about. Since Dan's death she has really come to rely on me even more than ever as her "next of kin" but I guess that is part of taking care of people that you care about.

My Latest Toy-A New Digital Camera!!!!!
I have finally gone digital! I finally found a camera that I thought was what I wanted in the price range I wanted so now I can take pictures and post them to my blog easier and have them on the computer almost immediately after I take them instead of waiting until I get the film developed and get a picture cd. Pictured above are my three darling spoiled pets, Twinx(dark tortie with blue eyes), Garfield(tabby), and of course, Bailey. I haven't posted in a while because there was nothing new to post. But there will be by the beginning of October when Mom and I get back from what is to be our yearly trek to British Columbia. I will then post more pictures to the blog and also set them up on Webshots again like I have done in the past so that everyone can see them better. Love to all of you!!

Sadness for the family
We are all saddened that today we had to put our beloved old dog, Snicker, down. She would have been 14 years old in June, which is very old for a big dog. She was getting senile, had catarracts, was extremely arthritic, was probably diabetic and losing lots of weight, and was just not doing too well anymore. So now I am down to one dog, Bailey, and the two cats, Garfield and Twinx. It will be easier when I go out of town now because most of the time Bailey will go with me and the cats do not need daily care. If Bailey does not go with me, she can spend the day over at Scott and Cheryl's with her littermates, Kassie and Kahlua, they get really crazy when they are all three together. Guess that is all for today. So on top of the joy we are feeling over the new baby in the family, we are saddened by the loss of an old friend, life balances out in all things.

We have a new baby!!!!
We welcomed Ethan Alexander to the family. He was born yesterday evening at about 7:45pm and weighed in at 8lbs 1oz and just over 20 inches long. The delivering doctor was Dr. Jan Bury and he was born at St. Alexius Hospital. The pictures should be posted either later this week or the first of next week. He will be home later tonight or early tomorrow. Brendon is very excited about being a new big brother. The link for the pictures is www.primecare.org and click on nursery. So I am great grandma for the second time and Scott is a grandfather, if you can believe that one. Will post pictures as soon as we get some.

Baby Update
If Stacey hasn't gone into labor by her appointment next Friday, Dr. Jan is going to induce her. So I will be updating things then with all of the pertinent information on the new addition. We are all excited about the upcoming little addition. Even if it makes me feel even older to have 2 great grandchildren.

Extended Family
Cheryl's oldest daughter, Stacey, and her family(husband, Mark and Brendon) have moved home from Pennsylvania and are expecting their second child, a boy, who is due to make his appearance in May, if he waits that long. He will join big brother Brendon who is now 4 years old. That makes Scott a Grandpa x2 and me a Great-Grandma x 2, and Grandma N a Great-Great-Grandma x 2. The family is growing by leaps and bounds.
The puppies continue to grow and take up alot of our time and energy. Bailey loves to go over and visit with her brother and sister, Kailua and Kassie. We will have to get some pictures of them if we can get them to hold still long enough. It is amazing how different each one is from the others but yet still so much alike. They are about the size of an average house cat and are 5 months old now, next month the will all be neutered since we are responsible pet parents. Bailey continues to be my baby and is spoiled rotten. She loves to go for her walks with Mama and Snicker but we do not go too far yet since Mama and Snicker are both very out of shape. She has a very strange issue with fire hydrants though that we cannot figure out, she shies away from them and barks at them.
We are all doing fine and are really looking forward to warm weather and summer.
